Define Small Business Classification Codes

Explanation

Use this activity to define the Classification Codes expected to be used when reporting according to eSRS. To meet government reporting requirements, it must be possible to classify suppliers and identify total value of items purchased from that supplier over a given period of time. It shall provide the government with insight as to how its contracting dollars are being distributed among small and disadvantaged businesses.

For defense manufacturer it is hence a requirement to be able to;

• Set up specific supplier classification goals for a contract
• Follow up and compare the goals with the actuals
• Report according to eSRS (Electronic Subcontracting Reporting System)

The system will use these Classification Codes when calculating Defense Contract Order goals for small and disadvantaged businesses. Goals and the accumulated progress for the different Classification Codes are expected to be reported in eSRS, per period.

Note: Current reporting periods are;

• Period 1: Oct1 – March31
• Period 2: Oct1 – Sep 30

As a result of this activity:

• Small Business Classification Codes are defined which can be connected to supplier so that goals and the accumulated progress for the different Classification Codes can be calculated.
